Perhaps one of the most important things that I have learned this semester is how important the editing process is in perfecting your work. Rereading your work is crucial and helps you to improve your grammar, as well as insures that you use unbiased sophisticated tone throughout your work. While engaging with some of our text like Working with words and style to edit manuscripts, I came to the realization that there is a lot more to editing a document than just checking for grammar, and good editing digs deeper than simple proofreading.  A thoughtful edit ensures that the piece is clear and flows well. Throughout the semester we were also given the opportunity to edit our own work after getting valuable feedback from our teacher, this was very useful and it made me realize how useful a catchy title can be at grabbing a readers attention. Professional editing can dig deeper than simple proofreading.  Editing a piece of writing sometimes includes ensuring that your book is clear and flows well.

Why Editing Matters!
